Red Mill Village is now open to people ages 50-55. On Tuesday, August 10th, RMV homeowners voted overwhelming to approve an amendment to the Master Deed to change the minimum age to 50 years old from 55, while retaining the strict prohibition against children under 18. This lowering of the minimum age in active adult communities is a trend in the current real estate market.
The voting sentiment seemed to be that this exciting change would be good for everyone—buyers, current residents and Thorndike Development. According to Trustee Bill Parvey, “We are pleased that this amendment has passed as we believe it to be in the best interest of our community…Feel free to tell your friends and other contacts about this change. After all, the main intent of the amendment is to broaden the market for Red Mill Village homes -- now and in the future -- for Thorndike and for all of us.”
So, if you were holding out for that next birthday, (o r 2, 3 or 4!) to reach 55, it is time to light the candles early!
